ভগবান শ্রীকৃষ্ণ প্রায় ৫০০০ বছর আগে মানব কল্যাণের স্বার্থে অর্জুনকে যে বাণী বলেছিলেন তা গীতোপনিষদ বা গীতা রূপে আমরা পেয়েছি। গীতার মধ্যে ৭০০ টি শ্লোক আছে। এই ৭০০টি শ্লোকের মধ্যে পরমেশ্বর ভগবান শ্রীকৃষ্ণ বলেছেন ৫৭৪ টি শ্লোক, অর্জুন বলেছেন ৮৪ টি, সঞ্জয় বলেছেন ৪১টি এবং ধৃতরাষ্ট্র বলেছেন গীতার সর্বপ্রথম শ্লোকটি অর্থাৎ ১টি।
শ্রীমদ্ভগবদ গীতার পাঠ করে আমরা এই দুঃখের সাগর স্বরূপ সংসার থেকে মুক্তি লাভ করে, জীবন ও মৃত্যুর চক্র থেকে মুক্ত হয়ে ভগবাদ ধাম ফিরে যেতে পারি। তাই গীতার গুরুত্ব অপরিসীম। গীতার কিছু বাণীও যদি আমরা আমাদের জীবনে অনুসরণ করি তো আমরা সহজেই সবকিছুতেই সাফল্য অর্জন করতে পারি এবং এই দুর্লভ মানব জীবন সার্থক করতে পারি। দেখে নেওয়া যাক কিছু অমূল্য জীবন বদলে দেওয়ার মতো শ্রীমদ্ভগবদ গীতার উক্তিসমূহ।
